The Star Travel Center in Bowie, Texas is one great Texas Rest Stop!
Fancy Western Theme rest stop on Hwy. 287 in Bowie, Texas and has a Service Station, Texas Gift Shop, Grocery Store, Pizza Cookery, Western Store and a Texas Cafe (The Armadillo Grill) and it's all in one big new building. The Western Store was well stocked and very nice, The Armadillo grill was just old fashioned down-home good cooking and all the rest of the Star Travel Center was just loaded with Western Clothes, Souvenirs, Gifts, Gourmet Foods and Caddylak Graffix Texas Greeting Cards. "By the way I ate the Chicken Fried Steak and it comes highly recommended from a good source, me!" -Says, Caddylak Maxy.

A Little About Bowie Texas "Cowboy Country"
As you enter Bowie, you see a modern, bustling community, but you also experience a breeze out of the past from a community proud of its Western heritage and role in Western development.
Bowie has been called "Cowboy Country", and the name fits, as its ranking in both the amateur and professional rodeo status grows each year.
Entering its ninth year, The Bowie Championship Pro Rodeo has moved into the top 20 of PRCA rodeos in Texas. Hosted each May, more than 5,000 people attend the two days of outstanding rodeo action.
During the last weekend of June, Bowie comes alive with the festivities of Jim Bowie Days Festival and Rodeo. One of the highlights is the two-day Jim Bowie Rodeo, one of the largest amateur rodeos in Texas. Daytime activities include: parades, games for young and old (such as frog jumping and turtle racing), a rodeo queen contest, Tractor Show, Car Show and lots of food and music.
