Artist Guidelines
We occasionally purchase art and will consider unsolicited cartoons or illustrations submissions appropriate for Funny Greeting Cards or T-Shirts Designs. These Artist Guidelines will tell you exactly what we are looking for and who we want to sell products to. If your Funny Greeting Cards Art or T-Shirts Designs matches our needs our production staff will call to establish a relationship and negotiate terms. The following is general information for what type of Cartoons or illustrations we are looking for. We hope our Artist Guidelines are helpful in your generation of cartoons and that we will be hearing from you soon. Please be aware that we are not responsible for loss or damage or unsolicited materials.
If Cards Art or T-Shirts Designs are Selected, Artist will Receive:
- Payment of $50 per Greeting Card or T-Shirt Design with a Full Copyright agreement if Art is accepted.
- Name Credit (Author's name will be printed on Back of Card or on T-Shirt Design)!
- Twenty-Five (25) Greeting Cards or One T-Shirt!
- Payment of $75 per Greeting Card or T-Shirt with a Full Copyright Agreement if Art and Caption are accepted!
- Your art will never be changed from its original form but if you write a caption and we need to change it to meet our need for a caption or message then the above price structure for a caption may change and you may not receive payment for the caption.
Who We Are: Caddylak Graffix is in the business of creating funny moments and bringing folks together with smiles and laughter using Funny Greeting Cards featuring Birthdays Cards, Christmas Cards, Get Well Cards, Holiday Cards, All Occasion Cards and showcases a large assortment of niche card categories including Sarcastic Cards, Golf Cards, Nautical Cards, Fishing Cards, Texas Cards, Armadillos Cards and more. Also, we are in the business of creating funny moments with Comical T-Shirts.
You Don't Have To Write Captions: Funny Greeting Cards, Funny Christmas Cards and Comical T-Shirts depend on visual Cartoons but it is not necessary for you to write captions for your art. We buy Art without captions and may purchase art with captions if art and captions if both art and caption works. .
Card Caption Subjects: Funny Greeting Cards Art need to be created for these occasions: Birthdays, Belated Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Saint Patrick's Day, Secretary's Day, Get Well, Retirement, Thank You, Anniversary, Congratulations, Just Because, Sarcastic, Thinking Of You or any other Caddylak Graffix Card Category.
T-Shirt Subjects: Comical T-Shirts Designs need to be written for any subject including Holidays, Politics, Drinking, Sex, Etc., but remember we do funny and edgy and not gross, graphic or hard core porn art.
Media: Art Work can be done in most any medium; watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, gouache, oils, digital media, etc. Avoid heavily textured paper/surfaces and fluorescent colors as they cause difficulty in obtaining an accurate reproduction. All images should be a finished design.
Digital Media: We accept digitally produced final art but digital artists are responsible for quality standards and for supplying a color accurate, high-quality printed proof of the art along with digital files. We do not purchase digital art that does not meet industry standards for resolution, printable color and professional file construction. Acceptable file types include: CMYK Photoshop TIFF or Photoshop EPS with a minimum of 300-pixels/inch resolution.
Important Caption Art and Design Suggestions:
- View the Cards and T-Shirts that we sell to acquire a feel for what we are looking for!
- We are a Funny Greeting Cards Publishing Company and want our Greeting Cards to be FUNNY!
- We will publish zany, outrageous, naughty, edgy greeting cards or t-shirts with a big twist of humor but not vulgar or Gross! Offensive designs will not be considered.
- Your designs must be original!
- Don't be afraid to take risks and push beyond greeting card or t-shirt design stereotypes.
- No minimum submission policy! You can submit as many designs you want and as often as you want.
- It's important that our products appeal to a range of ages and interests.
- Originality is paramount at Caddylak Graffix, so please do not send previously published cards.
- Be outrageous. Outrageous situations involve drawings of fat, old, nerdy or ugly people. Beautiful people work good too! They can be cartoons, illustrations or caricatures of famous, infamous or non-famous people or combinations of the above.
- Be completely uninhibited because the purpose of this art is to feature a level of imagery and humor that one couldn't get away with utilizing photography. As always, our purpose is to generate humor!
- The review process can take up to 12 weeks. If your work is chosen, we will contact you to discuss final art preparation, procedures, and payment. If your work is not selected, it will be returned to you. To facilitate the return process, please be sure to included a self-addressed stamped envelope that is big enough to hold your submission.
- We love variety, so feel free to send up to thirty designs.
- When submitting your ideas to Caddylak Graffix, we recommend that you send color copies or photographs of the artwork. Do not send slides, disks, tear sheets, or original artwork. Please note that Caddylak Graffix is not responsible for any damages to submitted artwork.
- Use the following format to help us in the review process if you decide to send a caption with your art work. Type or Print Carefully! Indicate (O) for outside of card caption and (I) inside of card if caption is submitted with art.
- Make sure your mailing address, phone numbers and e-mail address are included in your submission. Art should be put on a CD in file format PSD or JPEG file format or e-mailed to below addresses.
- Greeting Cards Designs must be adaptable to 5" X 7" format and include a 1/8" bleed. We generally prefer designs in a vertical format, although we do make exceptions when the design benefits from a horizontal format and for Christmas. We prefer designs to be done to "actual" size whenever possible, or slightly larger.
- T-Shirt Designs must be adaptable to 8" x 10" format. We generally prefer designs in a vertical format, although we do make exceptions when the design benefits from a horizontal format.
- We request that each piece of art work be labeled with artist's name and art title or number.
- Absolutely no phone calls please! If you have questions then e-mail us and we will answer your inquiry!

Return Of Art: We do not return art or sample art, Please do not include a self-addressed-stamped-envelope (SASE) inside your "submissions envelope". Your captions and messages will be kept on file for one year and then destroyed if not used.
Warning: Caddylak Graffix cannot be responsible for lost or damaged material. Do not send original Art Work! Please make sure addresses and spelling is correct!
Important: Caddylak Graffix buys all rights for accepted art. You will be Required to sign a "Certificate of Originality" stating that your art is original and uniquely yours. We pay one way: Outright buyout for an image or total concept (images and lines) we accept, we purchase all rights. You will be Required to sign a "Card Release" stating that you came up with the concept.
Last But Not Least: If your art is chosen we will contact you within 16-24 weeks. Unfortunately, we cannot give updates on the status of any particular art submission. Therefore, if after 24 weeks, you do not hear from us, it is safe to assume that we were not able to use your submission. artists are welcome to submit art for both our Greeting Cards and T-Shirts. Our Art Review Committee will review your submission. Please allow up to 24 weeks to receive notification from us. In order for us to efficiently review all submissions, please refrain from contacting us.
Note: The Art Review Committee, Creative Team or Production Staff will not provide critiques of any artist's work.
